Centre for Aboriginal Leadership, Governance
The Whistler Institute will assist First Nations to build strong independent communities and will foster enduring relationships between First Nations and non-First Nations through education, facilitation and dialogue.
It will be a place where First Nations can build their leadership capacity, gain the skills and competencies necessary to advance their business interests, and explore ways to use their economic resources to raise the socio-economic situation of their communities.
It will improve non-First Nations’ understanding of, and respect for, the traditional values held by First Nations, and their culture and customs.
It will assist both First Nations and non-First Nations to find respectful and innovative ways to come to agreement on important issues.
